Watching You (Detective Kerri Blasco #3) by J.A. Schneider

Detective Kerri Blasco's newest case is as strange as it gets. A young woman, well liked by everyone, is murdered. It doesn't make sense.  Then the killer strikes again, and again. This killer's twist is something no one had ever dealt with before. Detective Blasco and her partner Alex aren't about to give up on solving this murder.

This thriller could have easily fallen off the front page of any newspaper. The characters are like old friends and you'll easily slide right into this story and never feel like you missed a beat. Ms. Schneider is a master of story telling. If you enjoy a page-turning-hair standing-up-on-the-back-of-your-neck type of read, this one is for you. It's out today, so go get your copy.

I did find issues. In this installment, Detective Blasco seems to have lost her power. She seems almost too sedate. There is some awkward phrasing and parts that don't read smoothly. This book seems to lack the powerful punch normally associated with J.A. Schneider books.

I gave this one 4 cheers out of 5 because although the book is good, Ms. Schneider has done better work.

Becca J. Campbell has the uncanny ability of pulling the reader right into the book. She's a fantastic story teller and her writing is superb. The characters are fully developed and relate-able.      Forget everything you knew about fairy tales. This dark tale is bold and definitely adult.  Well written with a solid plot, this book delivers. The characters are defined and  unique. You'll find this book humorous and forward thinking. It's the strangest, but most entertaining book I've read in quite awhile.

If You Were Me and Lived in the Ancient Mali Empire by Carole P. Roman

Let's travel back to Ancient Mali. It's a time when the Mali empire was a world power. We can see how they lived and learn about their customs and traditions. Did you know Mali means " hippopotamus"? C'mon and learn even more with this book.

I love this series. I know I've said it before, but this series is perfect for the younger crowd. I feel this series is essential for your child's library. Well written and character are well defined too. You'll find out so much with this book. Get your copies today!

I did find issues. I'm not sure this age group is ready for the brutal punishments described in the book. There are other bits of information too mature for this crowd.
